Some Personal History:

I have been very involved with autism for a long time. Besides being a registered nurse and having numerous autistic clients over the years, my 14-year-old grandson has Asperger's syndrome, sometimes described as high-functioning autism.

I have spent many hours in thought about the months leading to my grandson's birth, the birth itself, and the years proceeding my daughter's and my awareness that something was 'not quite right', but nothing seemed significant except the fact that Jordan's behavior began changing soon after his immunizations shortly before his third birthday.

My daughter (Jordan's mother) has been active in the Northwest Autism Foundation (http://autismnwaf.org/) since it was founded in 1997. For years she volunteered several days a week at the NWAF office in Oregon City, Oregon, and in the last two years has become their only paid employee. The NWAF is a non-profit organization that provides education and information to families, caregivers and professionals of autistic children.

She keeps current on any new developments related to autism, and she shares information with me almost daily. We have always been very interested in the studies involving thimerosal, the mercury compound used as a preservative in vaccines, immune globulin preparations and other medical products.

Did You Know?
Until 2001, all 15 recommended childhood vaccinations given from birth to three years of age contained the mercury compound, thimerosal.

I am so happy people are reading this article and thinking about the possible dangers of childhood immunizations and the thimersal problems. Please read about this problem as much as you can and discuss ALL childhood immunizations with a knowledgable medical authority. Our children are too precious to take ANY chances with this.

If all the illegals coming into the country were immunized for the nasty things they bring in, we wouldn't be loading our babies with poison. Pediatrician are supposed to look out for your child's well-being not poison them. Everything is a business in this country. They use our children as guinea pigs. Shame on the drug makers. I wonder how many of their children have been vaccinated with this shit!!!

As a new mom, this is some scary stuff. I thank God that my daughter was born post-2001 but I fear any harm I may be causing her now. My pediatrician hasn't exactly assuaged my fears. The more I read, the less I think I will continue with her vaccinations. I will check out that link, thanks

I agree completely. Both my nephews from two different siblings are affected--one severely autistic, the other severely Asperger's. My son has not gotten the MMR or DPT and is the only boy so far in our family who is not on the autism spectrum (he's 5). I was very close to my nephews before they got this way. The autistic one just seemed to stop recognizing me one day, and that was about 8 years ago, he still seems like he doesn't know me. Before he got this way, he was so interactive and happy, would run to greet me when I came in the room. Born this way, my ass.

I agree with you totally! My daughter has Aspergers as well and was born in 1993.

I have a grandaughter who has autism. She is now 7 and it would be a wonderful thing if they could pinpoint what is causing this terrible disorder. Good job.
