Healthy Homemade Granola
Granola is something that I personally love and if you're like me and you wonder down that isle in the store only to have sticker shock; then wish you could do it yourself, you can. This recipe is one of my favorites. I love to make it with yogurt, strawberries, and blueberries. I mix them all together and enjoy.
The Recipe:
2 Cups Rolled Oats - Not Instant
1 Cup Almonds
1/2 Cup Sunflower seeds - unshelled
1/2 Cup Coconut
1/2 Cup Raisins
1/2 Cup Raisins
1/4 Cup Veggie Oil
1/2 Cup Honey
2 Tablespoons Cinnamon Sugar
1) Mix the Oats and Nuts in a large bowl. Mix dried Fruits together in separate large bowl and set aside
2) Measure oil and add to bowl with Oats, then use same measuring cup, unwashed and measure out honey. This will keep honey from sticking to much to sides and will come out easier.
3) Toss until evenly coated, and pour into baking pan.
4) Bake at 300* for 30 minutes stirring every 8 to 10 minutes.
5) When golden brown add to large mixing bowl with dried fruits, stir gently until evenly mixed. Once cooled a little then add the Cinnamon sugar.
6) Finish cooling and enjoy!
This is a great recipe to make your own as most ingredients can be substituted for something else if need be. Enjoy!
