The Definitive Way to Get Tickets.
So here I was at home on the computer when the phone rang. It was the David Letterman Show. We were heading to New York City the following week. I had gone to the show's website and askedA man was on the other end of the phone. He asked me if I had requested tickets for the David Letterman show. I said yes never for a minute thinking it was a telemarketer. What telemarketer would know how much we wanted to see David Letterman? This very nice voice quickly told me to call a phone number as soon as I could and answer a trivia question. Believe me I really wasn't sure I had to answer a trivia question correctly. The fact is that I rarely watch David Letterman because I don't stay up that late. I called my husband in panic who does watch him on occasion and told me that most likely the question would be one that a faithful watcher would know the answer to. A faithful watcher! That wasn't me. I was sweating buckets. What to do, what to do.
I hadn't read anything about getting tickets but I figured that I'd look up some biographical information about Dave. I'd at least have some facts to give me a little bit of help. Little did I know that I would be printing out about seven pages of trivia about David Letterman and studying them as if I were taking a test.
Little did I know that there seemed to be pages of trivia geared just for this purpose. Now all I had to do was study and study quickly. I didn't know how much time I had between those two phone calls but I figured they weren't going to give me an entire day. I assumed that if they didn't hear from me they'd go on to another person.
