Earth Friendly Gift Ideas for Christmas
Looking for earth friendly gifts for the holidays? First find out if there is a Hippie store in your area. The closest hippie store in my area is in Athens, Ohio. My sister and a friend got some of their holiday shopping done there. She got me this cute recycled purse with a hemp strap and wooden beads laced into it. She also got me an all natural candle that doubled as a body lotion. Hippies are all into the earth movement and those type of stores usually deal exclusively in earth friendly products.
No hippie store? Don't like ordering products(like me)? Then here is a few ideas you may consider and their easy to find.
Digital cam: This one is a no brainer . Not only is a good camera a great gift but a digital camera creates less waste, and is more practical. No more useless blurry, dark or generally messed up photos stacked in drawers around the house-or to be thrown in the trash. You can simply load the photos on a computer or other device and select and edit only the ones you want. Shopping for a kid? Wal-Mart has a great little digital cam for twenty bucks and it takes great photos in ample light. Its sold as a disposable cam but the one I bought has lasted years and I've taken hundreds of photos with it.
Exotic plants: Most people like plants, some people are in love with them. Indoors or out, healthy beautiful plants and trees make everybody feel good. From all over the Internet to your local greenhouse you can find that special living present that will please your gardening friend. When I was little my mom had a nice clump of evening primrose, the flowers that bloom at dusk. Back then mom was about the only person who had them in this area. Watching them bloom in minutes, at dark, has made a wonderful summer memory for many years.
