For anyone who has had a baby, you're probably all too familiar with that dreaded problem called diaper rash. Having had five children myself, I can say from experience that I have had the displeasure of facing this problem countless times. For my first four children I used A+D Ointment to treat their rashes. But for my last child I was given a tube of Johnson's No More Rash Diaper Rash Cream as a gift, and decided to give this brand a go. My son had recently started to have a reaction to a certain brand of diapers that I had just started using and his bottom was really red because of this. So, I thought this would be a great opportunity to try out the Johnson's brand of diaper rash ointment on him. Following are comparisons on both A+D Ointment and Johnson's No More Rash Diaper Rash Cream, as well as my choice for the brand that I prefer to continue using in the future.

A+D Ointment is not only highly recommended by pediatricians, I have also found this product to work wonders when it comes to diaper rash. All of my children have broken out in diaper rash at one time or another, and I have always used this ointment on them with wonderful results. It starts to work from the very first application and even seems to prevent another rash outbreak for at least a week or two after the rash has gone away. The drawbacks on this product are pretty much non-existent. The price for this product was a little bit expensive at $4.29 for a 4 oz bottle, but it works so well that we don't find ourselves going through a whole bottle during one outbreak. This means that one tube can last us quite a while, allowing us to save money in the long run. The smell is another small qualm I have with the A+D ointment. For some reason I dislike the odor that this product has, but that's a small price to pay for my child's comfort. All in all, I would have to give A+D ointment a score of 5/5.

Takeaways
  • A+D Ointment starts working immediately on baby's rash
  • There is a $.20 price difference between both products, with the Johnson's brand costing more

Great review. I used to use corn starch on my babies. It worked like a charm and no perfumes and dyes like baby powders.

Great review. I also love A+D Ointment. Every time I have tried anything else, it either didn't work or made my child bleed because of the zinc oxide. :(
