Every one knows that a "chick flick" is a movie that is made to appeal to the female audience. Although most guys will NEVER admit it, they too enjoy the occasional chick flick. Chick flicks come in two basic categories: tear-jerker and romantic comedy. Although I am a fan of them all, I myself prefer the latter. "'Tis better to laugh than to cry," as I always say.

The word "good" is very subjective since everyone's idea of good is different, but here are some of my favorites:

1. Hitch- This is my all-time favorite. It has a wonderful cast and is absolutely charming and hilarious. Will Smith plays Alex Hitchens, the best relationship consultant in New York. He is working to help clumsy, yet lovable Albert Brennaman (Kevin James) win the love of beautiful socialite, Allegra Cole (Amber Valetta). Hitch also has his hands full wooing the lovely Sara Melas (Eva Mendes) a cynical tabloid columnist who is surprised to discover that the man she has fallen in love with is the infamous date doctor. Looks like the relationship expert still needs to learn a thing or two about love. This movie has everything a chick flick (or any other movie for that matter) should have, it is funny and absolutely delightful.

2. Love Actually- This British comedy is absolutely superb. It features a wonderful cast and captures the true essence of love in different stages of life, different social classes and under different circumstances (All in one movie!). It tells the stories of an unlikely romance between a Prime Minister(Hugh Grant) and one of his employees, a couple (Colin Firth and Sienna Guillory) who speak two different languages, but are crazy about each other despite the barrier, a woman (Laura Linney) who has secretly loved her co-worker for years but hasn't told him... If you want to know the rest, watch the movie, you won't be sorry.

I am a weird "chick". I would rather watch Gladiator or The Patriot. Then again, I read a lot of 1800's novel too! Maybe I was born a little too late! Great read!
