If you are looking for a unique place to go for a summer vacation, I would recommend you go to Treasure Island Hotel and Casino, located in Hastings, MN. Treasure Island is located about 35 south of the Twin Cities. It is close enough to all that Minnesota has to offer, yet you are away from all of the commotion.

If you enjoy gambling, Treasure Island is the place to stop. They offer over 2500 slot machines, in all denominations. They also offer a non-smoking section with over 400 slots to choose from. There are not a lot of casinos out there that still offer this. If you are looking for table games, you are sure to find a spot at any game that you choose. If you plan on gambling quite a bit, I would recommend you sign up for their free "Passport Club Card" which you will earn points while playing with your card. I personally think that the best part of Treasure Island is their hotel rooms. They are very affordable, one of the cheaper casinos to stay at in Minnesota. They are very spacious. My recommendation is to book early, as they fill up fast due to popularity. If you are staying with the whole family, you should also take note that they do offer child care for the little ones, 7 days a week. This way you can get away from the kids for awhile, while you go and play the slots.

I think it is a great place to stay with the whole family because you can all go swimming in their wonderful pool. It is located in the center of the hotel, set in a tropical theme. It is so beautiful, you just have to experience it for yourself. They also do have a few arcade games located in the pool area for the older children to play. You and your significant other can get cozy in one of the two whirlpools located next to the indoor swimming pool. If you want to cool off in the swimming pool, you can hang out under the waterfall.
