As most of you know, I'm a bit rotund and bald, and have to worry about my mortgage, wife, 1.5 kids, and 0.8 dogs. I'm a "regular Joe," and a weekend away from my neurotic neighbors, is a vacation in every sense of the word.(I really do miss watching them mow the grass naked, but everyone needs a break) Since my wife and I live in the Greater Worst Metropolitan D.C. Area, we decided to find a place close to ski at. There were quite a few options, but we decided to choose Bryce Ski Resort since it was only two hours away and the price was reasonable.
It was actually an hour and half away, although this might be due to my lead foot. There are plenty of state troopers on Interstate 81, which is the main intersection near the resort, so please watch it around here! Also consider driving the speed limit on Rt.263, which is the direct road to the ski resort. Even in perfect driving conditions, this is challenging for even an experienced road king. The curves on this can sneak up on you, and the edges of the road lead to some rather high mountain inclines. There are a few wooden crosses around, as a "gentle" reminder to where some rather nasty accidents have occurred. The local fire department is only staffed part time, so there could be a rather lengthy delay of service in an emergency situation here.
