Orlando Shooting Rampage Occurs Within a Day of Fort Hood Killings

Suspect Jason Rodriguez Taken into Custody, Situation Still Unfolding

Only a day after a shooting rampage in Fort Hood, Texas left 13 people dead, another shooting tragedy is unfolding in Orlando. Suspect Jason Rodriguez allegedly walked into the Gateway Center Office Building, located in Gateway Plaza, shortly after 11 am this morning and began shooting soon afterward.

Until his apprehension, the public was requested to help track down the suspect.

Suspect, Jason Rodriguez, was Former Worker at Local Orlando Business

Jason Rodriguez was driving a silver Nissan SUV, with a license tag of D119UX. Live updates can be seen at WFTV ,located here . At this point, the vehicle has allegedly been found at the Hollowbrook Apartment Complex. Six people have been wounded and several needed surgery. One person may be dead while others are in surgery or getting other medical treatment. The full number of shooting victims is not yet known and the area is still being searched.

Breaking Details about the Suspect and Shooting

While the motivation for the shooting is not known at this time, Jason Rodriguez's mother was interviewed as soon as possible. Because Rodriguez had worked at a nearby business, some people at the scene recognized Rodriguez.

At least one victim was shot in the back. The suspect, Jason Rodriguez, is a former employee of Reynolds, Smith and Hill. Residents and others at HollowBrook apartments on Curry Ford Road had reportedly heard a single gunshot, indicating a possible suicide. But that assumption was cleared when Rodriguez was found.

Jason Rodriguez has reportedly been taken from the Hollowbrook Apartments and he was taken into custody. He was arrested. The police are taking him to jail.
