For years the houses I lived in drew people from all around due to the beauty of the Christmas décor. What surprised many was that the decorations I used were not always the latest, the greatest or the most expensive. In fact most were off year and literally bottom dollar in cost. This was with the outdoor and the indoor Christmas decorations as well.

The formula
Closeout, clearances, yard sales, flea markets and dollar stores were my sources that originally saved me several hundred dollars every year in season. Then I learned that the drug store chains, Walmart, Big Lots, BJ's, and Costco in the post buying Christmas season slashed prices. In a period of two weeks leftovers could be slashed the selling price up to four times or more. And name brand retailers, such as Macy's, Kmart, Sears, JC Penny and Toys R Us to name a few of the so-called major retailers follow suit. The formula is simple. The key is to combine each by allowing a specific budget.

How long does it take?
When I tell people as they looked over my own displays, I always got a jaded eye. Not to brag, if I didn't know better, I as an onlooker would doubt me as well. The fact is I had assembled some serious displays. In a span of two years I would have spent less than my neighbors and built attractive sightseeing worthy that dwarfed theirs. Once you do it you suspend all disbelief.

How you are limited.
I know you've probably heard the expression beat to death. In this case it just so hit the nail right on the head. What is it? Put plainly your only as limited as your imagination. Your indoor décor and outdoor are a combination of cheap Christmas decorations and formerly pricey decorations. Dollar store decorations can go from plain to exotic with the use of a little tinsel and a few dabs of glitter glue.
