Conservative Republican Free-for-All#4
Short Takes-Healthcare Edition: Vol. 4
House Speaker Nancy Pelosi came out smiling and then likened the House healthcare bill H.R. 3962 victory to the successful passage of Social Security in 1935 and then Medicare some 30 years later. That's right, Nancy, they were successful; we are still paying for it and those programs are still broke.Another good reason to enact terms limits for members of Congress - Rep. John Dingell (D-MI) states, "It provides coverage for 96 percent of Americans. It offers everyone, regardless of health or income, the peace of mind that comes from knowing they will have access to affordable health care when they need it." Rep. Dingell, does that mean only 4% of Americans are presently insured? Rep. Dingell has been introducing national healthcare insurance bills since 1955. I believe there was a reason why "God" was added to the Pledge of Allegiance during the 50s, Mr. Dingell - does the U.S.S.R. remind you of anything?
A report from the non-partisan Joint Committee on Taxation was released by a Michigan Congressman that said the Democrat Healthcare bill could impose penalties of up to $250,000 in fines and five years in jail if anyone refuses to buy the "proper" insurance coverage. Welcome America to the United Socialist States of America. If any Democrat or Liberal evens knows one line in the Constitution, this part of that bill is unconstitutional and lawsuits will clog the court systems for years to come - Irrational meet your buddy, Ignorance.
The lone Republican, Congressman Anh "Joseph" Cao of Louisiana cast the only Republican vote in favor of Obama/Pelosicare healthcare bill. Cao stated that he received assurance from President Obama that they would work together to address the crucial issues facing Louisiana. Assurance from Obama? Will that be during Obama's golf outing or after one of his flamboyant White House parties?
