Healthy Food Houston, TX is not an oxymoron. Sure there are some fine establishments found all throughout the Houston area that have elements of healthy food, but these restaurants are the best of the best. Each of these restaurants are known for their menu being entirely healthy. Whether you are looking for a vegetarian meal, or some healthy Indian Cuisine, try one of these and you will not be disappointed.1. Ziggy's Bar and Grill. Ziggy's menu is organic and original. If you are looking for some down home comfort food then Ziggy's will not disappoint. They use only the best organic beef, eggs, and vegetables to create food that will make you come back time and again. Vegetarians will enjoy the Veggie Platter which includes generous helpings of your choice of 3 vegetables. If you are more of a meat eater then try their Grilled Atlantic Salmon. Prices are around $8 for most entrees and portions are healthy.
2. The Pepper Tree. The Pepper Tree offers great Vegetarian cuisine. The thing that sets the Pepper Tree apart from other healthy food restaurants is the vegetarian buffet. The buffet features all kinds of vegetables that range from high protein to low carb vegetables as well as vegetarian style desserts. The Buffet is available for lunch on Tuesday-Friday for $6.99 and is available all day on Saturday and Sunday for $13 bucks. If buffet is not quite your thing make sure and order one of the menu items.
3. Madras Pavilion. Madras Pavilion is a young and rising restaurant in the Houston area that features authentic Indian Cuisine. I found the waiters and waitresses to be extremely helpful when explaining the menu and the restaurant was very clean and comfortable. Entrees range in price from $6 to $15 bucks. My personal favorite was the North Indian Thali which consists of white rice, vegetable pullav, and vegetable curry.
