Prince to Play 21 Shows in London, Then Study the Bible
Lots of lucky fans in London will be treated to 21 performances by Prince, who recently made a brief appearance in the city to announce the concerts. Prince will also be looking for a place to live in London during the tour, and said "I love London. I've had some of my favorite shows
here."
In an effort to make the show affordable for fans as well as help promote his most recent album 3121, tickets for the show will cost 31.21 pounds. The price of the ticket also includes a copy of a new as-of-yet untitled album. 3121 is Prince's first number 1 album in the United States in nearly 17 years. Other notable releases from Prince include his debut album Purple Rain, released in 1984, and Sign O' The Times, released in 1987.
Prince stated that each show will be different, appealing to many of his different fans who like the many styles of music Prince tends to perform. Prince says, "We play so many different styles of music, it's really hard to get a full dose of what we do unless you come to several shows. I also have a wide fan base that comes to multiple shows all the time."
After the London tour, also billed as the Earth Tour, Prince says he will be taking some time off from music in order to study the Bible and do some traveling, but did not speculate further, except to say that he is currently taking a lot of inspiration from the Bible.
Tickets for the Earth Tour go on sale this Friday. While the PR company in charge of promoting the London tour said that Prince would be performing his greatest hits for the very last time, speculation says that this is not true. Fans can also expect to see Prince cover a wide range of material by other artists, and guest appearances may also be possible.
