Dancing with the Stars Week 8 Results : Who Went Home on DWTS Season 9?

The Dancing with the Stars week 8 results show aired this evening on ABC. The action included performances by Michael Buble and British sensation Susan Boyle, an out-of-this-world encore dance, the return of DanceCenter with ex-DWTS goofball celebs Kenny Mayne and Jerry Rice, and of course, the elimination of yet another pair from Dancing with the Stars season 9 competition. Was the big reveal a shocker or a given? Find out now.

The week 8 results show opened with model Joanna Krupa and partner Derek Hough's futuristic Paso Doble, also known as the encore dance of the week. Lickety-split, co-hosts Tom Bergeron and Samantha Harris moved on to a super quickie review of last night's action, which found entertainer Donny Osmond and singer Aaron Carter tied in the toilet and singer Mya doing the flushing. The first couple to pass on to next week's semifinal round was then named: Encore dancers Joanna Krupa and Derek Hough.

After a break, Tom introduced the actual review of last night's Dancing with the Stars week 8 action. (I was confused over why the initial review was so darn brief!) They touched on each and every dance, including Mya's allegedly perfect 70s Samba and Donny's "crazy bizarre scary" (per Len Goodman) 1980s Paso Doble. I'm still irritated that Mya got such an easy break with that Samba. Come on. The Samba was made for the 70s. Not a stretch. Blech. But life moves on. Moaning over. Up next? Super successful singer Michael Buble singing something or other. I know, I know: I should really Google it and find out what he sang. (Okay, I did. It was I Haven't Met You Yet. I'm off the hook.) DWTS season 9 pro dancers Maksim Chmerkovskiy, Jonathan Roberts, Cheryl Burke and Anna Trebunskaya joined him with a cute routine of their own.

Samantha talked with safe couple Joanna and Derek next. The thing I took from that? Joanna can eat an entire sandwich while wearing a tight costume and have said sandwich not show. I almost hate her. Tom then proclaimed Mya and Dmitry Chaplin safe to dance again during next week's Dancing with the Stars season 9 semifinals. Well duh. Not much to say about that one.
