If this sounds intriguing the first thing you need to do is visit the dealer’s website. After locating the website, you need to search the online inventory and find a car that suits your needs. Most sites list all of the cars that are available on their lot, on their webpage as well. This way you will have the ability to shop the same way as you would if you were to physically go to the dealer. When you find a car that suits your needs you can then fill out an online request form. On the form you will need to provide contact information so that the internet sales department can get a hold of you. The good thing about these forms is that you can specify how you want to be contacted. So if you do not want to be called on the phone all day long, you can mark down that you want to do business via email. The form will also allow you to add additional comments such as trade in information, or any dealer installed accessories that you are looking for.
After sending the request form all you need to do is sit back and wait. Internet sales departments usually respond quickly because they are aware that there is a lot of competition for business. Most of the time their first response will include a price quote. At this point you can decide if you like the price enough to move forward. If you think that you can do better you may want to wait for another dealer to get back to you. But remember, you can always counter offer. Just because you are buying via the internet does not mean that you cannot negotiate.
Most dealers also have a way that you can apply for financing over the internet. If this is the case you can get financed without ever leaving your computer.
