Low-quality food for dogs tends to have fewer nutrients, a lot of bulk, and more calories, and too many treats and not enough exercise can cause dogs to become overweight. If your dog is overweight and you're concerned about the safety and overall quality of store-bought food, give him homemade food prepared in your kitchen. Homemade food enables dog owners to know exactly what their dogs are eating, and homemade food will provide all of the necessary vitamins, nutrients, and required calories without unnecessary preservatives and potentially harmful ingredients. Try making the following homemade food especially for overweight dogs. It's loaded with real meat, grains, vegetables, vitamins, and all-natural ingredients that will help keep overweight dogs trim and healthy.

How Much Should My Overweight Dog Eat?

The amount of food fed to overweight dogs depends greatly upon their current weight and dietary needs. Consult your veterinarian regarding the amount of the following homemade food to feed your overweight dog. Your veterinarian is your best source of information since he or she is aware of your dog's personal needs and requirements.

The Importance of Multivitamins

In addition to the following homemade dog food, give your overweight dog multivitamins especially for canines. Purchase multivitamins especially for dogs from your veterinarian, online, or from your local pet store or retail store. Although the following homemade meal for dogs is nutritious, adding a multivitamin to your dog's daily diet will ensure he receives all of the vitamins and nutrients his body requires for optimal health and complete nutrition.

Try raw veggies and fruits too. Mine love raw baby carrots and tomatoes.
