Unique Homemade Gift Ideas for Mother's Day 2007
Mother's Day is coming up. Instead of the usual card or flowers she usually gets, why don't you give her a home-made gift that she will love and be proud of?
Here are some sweet and simple gift ideas that kids can make for their mom's that they she will never forget.
"A scoop of hugs and kisses"
Items needed:
Laundry Scoop
Hugs and Kisses Candy
Colored Plastic Wrap
Ribbon
Instructions:
Fill the laundry scoop with the hugs and kisses candy. Cut a large piece of plastic wrap and set the scoop in the middle of it. Fold the plastic wrap over so the two end meet and the scoops handle. Pull the plastic wrap tightly around the scoop and gather around the handle. Tie a ribbon around the handle to hold the plastic wrap securely in place. Tie a sweet note to the scoop that says "A scoop of Hugs and Kisses just for you, Mom."
"Hand-print Canvas Bag"
Items needed:
Plain White Canvas Bag
Washable Fabric Paint
Fabric Markers
Paint one hand with fabric paint and "stamp" your hand-print onto the tote bag. If you keep your fingers close together, the "stamp" will look like a flower. Use markers to draw a stem and leaves onto the "flower". Write a nice message below your "flower" and don't forget to date it so mom can always remember when she got her special gift.
"Mom Coupon's"
How about making some "coupons" for mom to use all through-out the year! Have dad help you use the computer to print them out or you can cut pieces of paper into rectangles and hand-make your coupon's. You might include things like: "One Free Hug" or list items you will do for mom like vacuum, dishes, or dusting.
A simple coupon book can be made by using construction paper or card-stock for the cover and back. Use a hole punch and ribbon, a stapler, or paper brads to hold your pages together. Make sure you write mom a special Mother's Day message on the cover or the back page of your book.
"Giant Mom's Day Cookie"
Items needed:
Store bought cookie dough
Writing Icing
Sprinkles, candies, or any other embellishments.
