Television and magazine ads for diapers are everywhere. Turn on the TV anytime between 10:00AM and 3:00PM and you are bound to see ads for Pampers, Huggies and Luvs.

As a mom, I wanted to give my kids the very best in life, and somehow I thought that meant I should put my babies only in the most expensive diapers. Can you blame me? The moms on the Huggies commercials are smiling, as are their babies. The "dream mother" is happy to provide the most adorable, sweet-smelling, comfortable diaper for her little one, and her baby confirms her decision by bestowing the most adorable smiles and coos. The mother who uses that other diaper? She's frowning and questioning her ability to nurture because her crying little guy is always suffering diaper rash from the leaks caused by cheap diapers.

After the new mother guilt haze began to clear, I was able to make better decisions about diapers which took into account not only my love for my children, but also a more practical matter: cost. Both Luvs and Walmart's Parent's Choice diapers are reasonably priced and have been the brands I have used over the years. Here is a brief review of each:

Takeaways
  • Parent's Choice diapers cost about $.14 each.
  • Luvs diapers cost about $.17 each.
  • Parent's Choice diapers are purely functional; they do the job without the "extras."

I came across this site, and sad that these are MOTHER'S talking like that! Those are the parent's with those bad ass, disrespectful kids. It's all about being a GOOD role models. So when your kids get older and they get arrested, pregnant at young ages, do drugs, etc., they'll wonder why. Grow up and go raise your kids THE RIGHT WAY! Absolutely PATHETIC!

When our 5-yr-old was born, we used Huggies all the time. Thought we had to have the brand name. Fast forward to 2005 when we brought twin girls home from the hospital! With them, we have used Parents Choice diapers every single day. I think they are a great diaper! We do recommend, however, put the children in Huggies Overnights at bedtime. This has been the perfect solution for us!

Well I guess I am in the minorty because I don't like Huggies or Luvs. The fragrance gave my poor baby a killer rash so I ended up using Tushies gel, bleach, fragrance-free diapers and Tender Care diapers for night time. I don't have many leaks or accidents with these diapers and they cost about the same as other diapers if you get them from diapers.com in bulk. There are some simple people on here bringing other people down, why spend a lot of money on diapers? It seem like evilb*tch has her priorities mixed up. I think you should buy whats best for YOUR baby, and the most important thing shouldn't be that it smells good or looks cute, AFTER ALL it is going on your babies sensitive bottom.

we used 7thgeneration for our oldest baby. no chlorine or fragrance. but they have quality issues at times. size 2 simply doesn't work at all. all the other diapers smell horrible and give me a headache. a parent was buying pc diapers at walmart and recommended them exclusively. we're on our 2nd bag with no problem. it's most probably the fragrances causing all the rashes. or the wipes. we're 7thgen only and still wash out the solution. if it's a big job, we spray california baby diaper wash on the wipe. that's at target now. i have a feeling parent's choice is probably a brand name made for walmart???

Has anyone thought of cloth diapers they are as easy to use and disposables but you just put them into the washer instead of throwing your money away....literally. Not to mention they are healthier for your babies. Look me up on ebay mypageantdesigns.

I agree. I also loved Parent's Choice diapers up until the last two packages. Now they are horrible. They don't fit, they leak and there just awful. I don't know what they did but it was a mistake. Just today I went back to buying Luvs and I really don't like those either but when something doesn't work you just got to change.

I feel like that was a very rude comment about being a broke F***. I am a single 1st time mom and I am also putting myself through college. How dare you insult people who don't have a lot of extra money. I barley make it and my daughter comes first. If these diapers gave her a problem such as diaper rash I would change to a more expensive brand immediatly. Parents Choice diapers are great and they are cheap! You can't beat that! I have only had 2 incidents where my baby soaked through her diaper. I Use the diapers 24 hours a day, and if I have another problem like that I will just buy a more expensive brand for night time.

why dont you broke fucks just go to walmart and get the pampers or huggies case for $19.99, it come with 100 somethings diapers

I loved Parent's Choice diapers until the last two packs I bought. They changed them! They are now smaller, thinner, less absorbent and in general fit very weirdly... they have added elastic and stretchy tabs. The first pack I got, I thought they were some kind of mistake or mis-packaged or something. But then the second pack was the same and I noticed on the front of the package there was a little notation of "now with stretchy tabs".. so the changes were intentional and not some kind of packaging error. We are looking for a new brand of diaper now. Maybe we'll try Luvs. This is horrible because I really did like the Parent's Choice brand, but they have made them unusable now.
