Just as those using computer 15 years ago look at today's machines and can't believe how much technology has moved forward, computer users 15 years from now will look back to the common user headaches of today and shake their head. Here's a sneak peek at what computer manufacturers will start building into computers for the home and business market.1. More Personalized Hardware to Match User Habits
Pretty much as a rule everyone right now sues the same equipment. The same keyboards, the same mice, the same screens and the same towers and laptop construction for computer equipment for home or office. But computer peripheral manufacturers have been specializing optional use computer tools for some time.
Casual users need fast RAM, brief spurts of storage, and flexibility in online management of functions for work and communication and entertainment. Specific chips and hardware profiles will be used for advanced computing like film editing, music and DVD burning, high speed gaming, and super-secure Internet access. The "one size fits all" computer sales model will pass away.
2. Less Distributed Systems
Currently computer manufacturers yield scores of computers by the gross to factory specification. But middlemen may emerge who purchase original equipment from computer manufacturers and start producing "profile" computers that more closely match actual use requirements. Computer potential won't be absorbed by overpopulated bundles of code for programs you never use. The drag on computer speed will drop.
These computers will have memory management, security, antivirus and anti worm protections, as well as custom bundles with patch and security updates built in. instead of updates and managing patches and security for dozens of programs you rarely use sitting on your desktop, you'll actually only tax your computer with your actual programming and computer use needs. Computers will more closely meet the needs of users.
