Once the Greeks are able breech the walls of Troy they are finally able to win the
war and destroy Troy. Aeneas escapes the walls of Troy to Italy with his father, son, and some survivors of Troy. It was prophesized that Aeneas would found the
new race of Trojans. Many of the Trojan were
women were enslaved by the Greeks. Atyanax, the son of Hector and Andromache, was thrown off the walls of Troy. This was Odysseus' idea, the thought being Atyanax would grow up one day and try and avenge the death of his family. The son of Hecuba and Priam, Polydorus was slaughtered by Polymester who was entrusted by Hecuba to keep her son safe. At the beginning of the
war Hecuba sends her son away to live with Polymester who promises to take
care of the child. Once Polymester finds out the outcome of the
war he kills the child. Hecuba finds out about the death of her son at the hands of Polymester and lures him and his sons into a tent. In the tent Hecuba blinds Polymester and kills his sons. After this Hecuba was turned into a
dog by the gods. As for the Greeks, they claim their prizes of
war and head
home for Greece. Ajax the lessor trys to rape Cassandra in the temple of Athena, which angers Athena. Ajax the lessor is the son of Oileus and Cassandra is the
daughter of the king of Troy, Priam. Athena witnesses this and punishes Ajax the lessor for his actions. The goddess Athena turns on the Greeks and causes a storm. Ajax the lessor is killed in the storm on his way home, while Agamemnon's journey
home was delayed by the storm. Almost all the Greeks encounter
problems returning home. Agamemnon claimed Cassandra as his prize and took her back
home with him. Agamemnon and Cassandra are killed when they get back to
Greece by Agamemnon's wife, Clytmnestra, and Aegisthus her
new lover. Menalaus' bride is returned to him. He almost kills Helen because he believes she willfully left with Paris, but she is able to convince him otherwise. Odysseus is only able to return
home after much wandering. This concludes the
events during the destruction of Troy.
