Free 4th of July Centerpieces
I love decorating for the 4th of July. What I do not like is spending a ton of money on 4th of July centerpieces! So, ever on the quest for some free centerpieces in a red, white, and blue theme I came up with a few free centerpiece ideas for your Independence
Day dinner table (or patio table)!
I am calling these free centerpieces based on the assumption that most people will have some of the following items lasting around their home.
Free 4th Of July Centerpiece #1:
You will need:
Garden Hose
Fishing wire or heavy thread or duct tape
White paper
Markers, Crayons...
Baseballs, golf balls.... Rocks...
Pencils

The first step is to take your straight old garden hose and wrap it around in a cylinder shape. Just coil it around. This cylinder can be as narrow or wide as you want. Now, use fishing line to tie each line of the garden hose together as you work your way up. You could also use duct tape on the inside.
Now, fill the inside of your garden hose vase or bowl with baseballs, golf ball, rocks, or something small. Baseballs are very American and perfect for a 4th of July centerpiece.
Now, have the kids draw out small American flags on the white paper. Cut them out and tape them to pencils with clear tape.
Stab the homemade American flags in the baseballs or rocks to stand them up.
Now, you can easily use real small American flags and floral foam if you have that as well!
American Flag Candle Votives
You will need:
Milk Jugs
Paint or white primer
Markers, paint, paint pens
Take your 1 gallon or ½ gallon milk jug and cut it in half. You want the bottom half of the milk jug so your candle votive can stand up. This can be as tall or as short as you want.
Pour some white paint inside the milk jug bottom and swirl it around. Coat the inside and pour out any excess. Let this paint dry.
Now, have the kids use paint pens to draw on stars all on the outside of the patriotic candle votive.
Other options would be tin foil stars, star stickers, American flag stickers, paint pens, puff paint stars, and even fun foam stars, felt stars, or construction paper stars.
