Why Amy Adams is the Next Meryl Streep

When you're thinking of some of the greatest actors of all time, Meryl Streep would most likely be seen on your list at the number one spot. Though it's true that Streep went to Yale to get a degree in drama, Amy Adam's has made it extremely far in her acting career, and in such a short matter of time.

Amy Adam's career didn't start off as big as Meryl Streep's did, however. When Meryl Streep appeared in her first movie Julia, within the next year she was nominated for her first Oscar for playing in the movie, The deer hunter. Amy Adam's played in a few television shows, that were later canceled, before she ever made an impression on critics and audiences. She was nominated for her first Oscar in 2005 when she played in the movie Junebug.

After Adam's success in 2005, she moved on to a leading role in the Disney movie, Enchanted. She was nominated for a Golden Globe in 2008 for leading actress, exactly a year after Meryl Streep won a Golden Globe for her leading part in The devil wears Prada.

After Enchanted, she started making it in big named movies such as Charlie Wilson's War, Sunshine Cleaning, and then finally starring next to the great Meryl Streep in Doubt. They both played nuns in that movie, and were both nominated for Oscars for their roles in that movie. Later that year in 2009, they both came out starring side by side again in another movie, only this time their characters never met. The movie was called Julie and Julia, a movie about the lives of Julia Child and Julie Powell.

The two have great chemistry together, and even more in common when it comes to choosing the roles to play in movies, and make it all they can. It's one thing to be a great actor, it's another to know how to choose the roles that you play and make sure that it's not going to affect the chances later of you getting a major lead role. These two actresses both choose wisely and hopefully we'll see them in more movies together to come.
