Outdoor play is essential to the healthy growth and well- being of children, since it is through play that children learn. It is a rule that children should have at least 30-40 minutes of outside play every day, well, we all know that is not always possible with the shift in weather, or when certain obstacles appear that get in the way of taking your children out. come up and you just can not take the kids out. Those days are usually the longest, most chaotic, and the most boring days for children and adults. Fortunately there are ways to make these days more eventful, all that is needed is a little bit of enthusiasm and creativity. Below are some fun activities that both adults and children can enjoy.

Pizza pie and Cookie Day- Every one can indulge in pizza and cookies. Have the children help you make the pizzas, you can have them work on two large pizzas from scratch or you can have them work with individual bagels or English muffins. To make a pizza from (scratch) you'll need some dough, yeast, olive oil, and salt (click the link at the end of the article to see how to make a homemade pizza) or you can just purchase the pre-made base, you'll need some pizza sauce, cheese, and any additional topping the kids may like such as mushrooms, pepperoni, peppers etc. Set each child up with some pizza crust and ingredients , they will have fun making their own pizza together. To make pizzas on English muffins and bagels you would follow the same procedure for putting on the ingrediants the only difference is you'll just toast the bagels or English muffins for about 1-3 minutes.

Teddy Bear Day- Purchase a few make your own teddy bear kits, and have the kids all sit around at the table stuffing their own teddy bears, and dressing them. After everyone has finished making their bears, have each child introduce their bear by telling everyone their bear's name, afterwards you could set up a tea party, or let the kids entertain themselves with the bears. This is such fun activities, that really pretty much anyone could enjoy!
