Christmas Tree Recycling in Middlesex County

Christmas tree recycling in Middlesex County consists of primarily curbside pick up with regular garbage pick up, although some towns require you to drop the tree off yourself at the municipal recycling center. It is always best to check with your local television channel or your towns department of public works/recycling coordinator beforehand.

Borough of Sayreville

The Borough of Sayreville's recycling coordinator is Pam Lubeski and contact information is 732-390-7008. Discarded Christmas trees are collected curb side on the 1st and 3rd Fridays in January by 6 am. The trees must be placed at the curbs, not in the streets. All decorations must be removed from the tree and they should NOT be placed in plastic bags. Call 732-390-7046 or tune into cable access channel 15 for questions and updates. Additionally, the township may utilize Fort Grumpy Recycling Center to drop off your tree. The center is on Bordentown Road and is open Mon-Friday 7:30 a.m. until 2:30 p.m. and on Saturdays 7 am-12pm.

New Brunswick

Trees are collected curbside for composting in January. Residents are required to place the bare tree curbside on the first regular trash collection day of by week by 6 am. The Recycling Coordinator, Donna Caputo, can be reached at 732-745-5059.

Spotswood

Christmas tree collection 2010 will take place on January 4, 8, and 11, 2010. Please remove plastic bags, strings or lights, ornaments, tree stands, nails, and tinsel from the tree. The Director of Public Works and the Recycling Coordinator, Jean P. Mayer can be reached at 732-251-0700 ext. 822

Jamesburg

No Christmas tree pick-up will be provided by the town. You must drop off your tree during normal recycling hours on the 1st and 3rd Saturday of the month between 8 am and 12 pm. Contact Joseph Intravartola at 732-521-3335
