The people closest to Farrah Fawcett, the ones who cared for her during her final days, apparently were left out of her will. Ryan O'Neal received nothing. Ms. Fawcett's best friend Alana Stewart (ex Mrs. Rod Stewart and ex Mrs. George Hamilton) also received nothing.

The bulk of her $4.5 million estate was left to her and O'Neal's son, Redmond, 24, who was in jail on drug charges and DUI when his mother died. Prison officials allowed him to visit her during her last days, but he had to wear a prison jumpsuit, shackles, and chains. The visit was filmed in the documentary, Farrah's Story, shown in May, a month before her death. Redmond has a long history of drug and alcohol problems.

Farrah Fawcett, 62, died of a rare form of anal cancer on June 26,2009..She had tried to keep her illness private, but Los Angeles hospital workers leaked information to the press. To tell the truth, and to help others dealing with cancer, Ms. Fawcett, O'Neal and friend, Alana Stewart, decided to document Ms. Fawcett's experiences dealing with the disease. The result was Farrah's Story. Stewart has also published a book about her experiences with Ms. Fawcett, accompanying her, as she sought both medical and alternative care in the USA and in Europe.

Ms, Fawcett was the iconic beauty and star of the 70's. Her on and off again relationship with O'Neal broke up in 1997. She attributed the break-up to "conflicts over parenting." O'Neal's children Tatum, Griffin and Redmond have all had problems with drugs and their father. The press has often written negatively about their relationship with O'Neal and his deficiencies as their father.

When Mr. O'Neal was diagnosed with leukemia in 2001, Ms Fawcett helped nurse him back to health. He was there for her soon after, when she was diagnosed with anal cancer. She stayed with him until she died. O'Neal said they were gong to marry, but time ran out.
