San Jose, Costa Rica is a Favorite City of Mine

Costa Rica is in Central America. The word "Costa Rica" means rich coast. Costa Rica is becoming one of the top retirement areas in the world; living there is much easier than one might believe and very affordable. The country is beautiful, presents a much slower paced lifestyle and has relatively a low crime rate. Beach-front property is very affordable compared to anywhere else tropical and property taxes are extremely low. The lifestyle in Costa Rica is very friendly -- it is like the people have time for you and are more laid back. The weather in Costa Rica is flawless, temperatures range from 80 degrees in the day to 65 degrees at night.

Costa Rica is full of activities such as golfing, fishing, surfing and rafting. I prefer the exquisite scenery, which is breathtaking everywhere you look. The flowering bushes are extremely unique and very fragrant.

I haven't traveled all over Costa Rica, so I will only focus on only what I know, which is San Jose. The El Pueblo in San Jose is loaded with bars, shops, clubs and galleries. The whole area sets on cobblestone streets and is full of restaurants, it comes alive at night with tourists and locals and doesn't slow down until dawn.

The Pueblo Antiguo is a theme park area with lots of fun for everyone, it has museums and is reminiscent of 19th century San Jose. The park was created on approximately 12 acres and is the center for culture, fun and observance of Costa Rican tradition. It allows visitors to have an opportunity to better understand the country of Costa Rica and its history. The Antiguo is located inside of the only major theme park "El Pargue de Diversiones de Costa Rica". The tour admission price is 45 dollars US adults, 33.75 US children. The departure time is 5 pm and return 9pm on Fri and Sat nights.

The Vocano Arenal is some ways from San Jose however it is well worth the trip. It is extremely impressive and at night the view is breathtaking. There are hiking trails and the guides are very informative.
