Movie Review "Double Whoopee"

A swanky hotel on Broadway is expecting a Prince from Germany. Instead in walks Stan and Ollie who are mistaken for the Prince and his minister. They are invited to sign the register, and after Ollie carefully signs it "Oliver Hardy Esquire" Stan struggles with what eventually turns into an X mark. A exasperated Ollie grabs the pen out of Stan's hand and spills Ink all over his own signature. After ripping the page out of the register Ollie begins to sign his name again when he is bumped into by Stan trying to shake hands with the hotel manager causing Ollie to spill ink on the register again. On finding out the man is the manager Ollie hands him a letter from the Cooks and Waiters Association which reads: "Dear Sir - Introducing your new doorman and footman. These boys are the best we could do on such short notice. There is some reason to believe that they may be competent". The humiliated manager tells the bellboy to take Stan and Ollie out of the lobby and show them where their uniforms are. Meanwhile the real Prince has walked into the lobby and is being ignored. When the manager realizes this he scrambles his staff. Now fawning over the Prince he is asked for a speech as he enters the elevator. The Prince steps out of the elevator and gives his speech which ends " - And I am here to make what you Americans call - Whoopee - ". Someone has summoned the automatic elevator and when the Prince tries to walk back in it is gone and he falls down into the greasy elevator shaft. The elevator comes down on top of him and out walks Ollie in his new doorman uniform.
