As an African-American woman with relaxed hair I never thought I could use Head & Shoulders Shampoo because I didn't think it would work on my coarse hair and would only dry it out. But I was tired of dealing with my dry, itchy, and flaky scalp so I decided to buy a bottle of the Head & Shoulders Dry Scalp Care Dandruff Shampoo. What really enticed me to pick up this shampoo was a symbol in the upper left corner of the bottle that said that it had a new hydrazinc formula. After reading the back of the bottle I was sold after I read that it had added moisturizers to "soothe the scalp while cleaning and conditioning the hair", and that it was "pH balanced for everyday use - even for permed or color-treated hair." I figured that if it was gentle enough for permed hair which undergoes a chemical process that it would also work for my relaxed hair.

I must admit even after this, I was still slightly skeptical before using the Head & Shoulders Shampoo just because I've had bad experience with drugstore shampoos, yet this one was actually one of the best I've tried. The first thing I noticed about the Dry Scalp Care formula (it's in a blue, white, and green bottle) was the scent, it smells very fresh and clean and has a beachy or oceanic feel to it. Besides that the shampoo is creamy but still very thin so it only takes a few drops to cover my whole head and it lathers very quickly.
