Motorola T305 Bluetooth Hands-Free Speaker: Product Review

Motorola is a generally reliable brand for electronics as the products are reasonably priced, work well and do not look obtrusive. However, when purchasing the Motorola T305 Bluetooth Hands-free speaker, expectant users might be disappointed with the quality of the sound.

The Motorola T305 is compact and smaller in size than a regular desktop mouse. It is attractive and unobtrusive, which allows it to be shelved neatly when not in use. Unlike products with earpieces that might fall out, this hands-free speaker can be attached to any surface in one's car. It is easy to use and requires only three seconds away from the wheel, the time it takes to start and end a call.

The Bluetooth reception on the Motorola T305 is excellent, and connects with a Blackberry or other Bluetooth devices instantly. When switched on, it has a blue light that flashes periodically. There is a power button located on the device, however it is almost too small to be pressed with one's fingers. Some users might need to use their fingernails to turn on this product. Apart from the power button, the Motorola T305 has a button for calls and for volume, which are large and easy to use. It also has a charging port. When the battery is new it lasts for as much as three days with only a few minutes needed to charge it, however the battery life may decrease with time.

The voice coming out of the speaker on the Motorola T305 is clear and loud. Adjusting the volume so that both the speaker on the other end and the Bluetooth prompter are heard clearly is difficult. When the prompter's voice is softened, the caller is too quiet, however by raising the volume in order to hear the call, the prompter's voice gets too loud and distorted.

The voice of the user in the car may be muffled, despite promises of noise reduction technology in the Motorola T305. Often callers on the other end of the line can hear but the voice is too unclear to understand what is being said. The static clears when the microphone is close to the mouth, however having the Motorola T305 device close to the face can be dangerous as it could obstruct the view of the windshield.
