TNT to Air Christmas Special with Mary J. Blige, Usher and Others
A star-studded one of a kind annual holiday event.

The list of artists scheduled to perform is a musical enthusiasts' dream come true. Fans can enjoy an exciting Christmas event on Sunday, Dec. 20, 8 p.m. with only two pieces of equipment: a remote control and a television equipped with cable TV, particularly TNT. The holiday special hosted by comedian George Lopez of talk show "Lopez Tonight" according to producers is one of the last top entertainment and holiday specials to be aired before a new decade, 2010.
With Mary J. Blige, Usher, Sugarland, Neil Diamond and others, the annual "Christmas in Washington" special promises to attract A-list celebrities and public officials including President Barack Obama and his wife, Michelle. The show will be taped Dec. 13 at the National Building Museum.
The show benefits the National Children's Medical Center.
Blige has won nine Grammy awards since her 1992 debut with What's the 411. The singer, songwriter and producer has sold more than 40 million albums.
Atlanta resident Usher has five Grammy awards and has sold more than 40 million albums. Sugarland resides in Atlanta and has become one of country music's top phenomenons.
TNT is based in Atlanta. Talk show "Lopez Tonight" airs on TBS, the sister station of TNT.
This is the 11th presentation of the two-time Emmy winning program by TNT. The special has aired for 28 years.
