Black Friday Sales 2009 May or May Not Disappoint Consumers

Black Friday sales 2009 ads have been leaked, as the sales for 2009 are crucial. Black Friday is almost one week away, and shoppers are chomping at the bits with anticipation. Finding the best sales means juggling your time between retailers such as Best Buy, Target, and Walmart. All three of these retailers are fore-runners in the Black Friday battle for consumer attention (and spending).

Best Buy Black Friday 2009 sales include a variety of appliances, TVs, computers, and electronic gadgets. You can get a 50" Samsung 720p HDTV for $698, a MacBook for $999 plus a $150 Best Buy gift card, and a flat screen monitor for your desktop computer for only $79.99.

Target shoppers are most excited about $3 Chefmate appliances, inexpensive apparel, inexpensive DVD and Blu-Ray movies, and deals on digital cameras and electronics.

Walmart shoppers are excited about everything. From a $598 50" HDTV to $3 children's sleepwear, the Arkansas based discount retailer has proven once again that they are a front runner in setting the lowest prices.

Sales in 2009 are more crucial for retailers than ever before. This year, handing out the lowest prices to consumers is a balancing act that may prove tougher than in years past. Last year, inventory levels were much higher than they are. With inventory levels lower, and consumers less willing to part with their hard earned cash, I can see where Black Friday sales may not be as impressive as in years past.

Speaking to coworkers and other enthusiasts, I don't think there will be as large of a crowd this year. Job losses, job insecurity, and the falling dollar all play a role in a consumer's willingness to spend money. While they will always splurge for toys so that their children don't go with out, Christmas gifts for adults may not be as hot of an item this year.

I hope my predictions are wrong. Personally, I plan on doing some heavy spending purchasing items that I need for all year during the Black Friday sales. I also plan on purchasing gifts for my extended family on that day.
