"New Moon" Reviews a Blockbuster or Bust?
Reviews of Highly Anticipated "Twilight Series: New Moon" Disappoint
New Moon reviews are in, and it looks like this Twilight Series addition fizzled. New Moon reviews are reviews written by film critics - which are a tough crowd. However, ask any pre-pubescent girl about their New Moon review and you will see that they are totally excited for the movie. Maybe it's the mysterious and oh-so-sexy (according to the teens) Robert Pattinson as Edward Cullen, or maybe it's Taylor Swift's new interest Taylor Lautner as Jacob. No matter what it is, and no matter what type of New Moon reviews come from the critics, the film is destined to be a success.
This year has been the year of the vampire. Vampire shows and movies such as the Twilight series, HBO's True Blood, and the Vampire Diaries are hits with everyone young and old. There's just something about the undead that makes us curious and excited.
According to MTV, while critics didn't give the New Moon leading actors glowing reviews, they did give them "props." Kristen Stewart was noted as being a little "twitchy", but it was agreed that her moping attitude is appropriate for a "troubled teen". Taylor Lautner's Jacob is the "bad boy", complete with new muscles we didn't see in the previous film. Robert Pattinson as Edward Cullen is the "Sensitive soul no one understands."
Personally, I am very excited to see New Moon. When I first watched Twilight it was because a 12 year old recommended it and there was nothing else showing that was remotely interesting at the $5 discount movie theatre. I was pleasantly surprised with the story line.
As a fan of True Blood, I was a little worried that the movie would be a little too racy for a younger audience. However, I was impressed with the muted love story and the twists and turns in the plot.
