Christina Ambers Suing Building After Marrying Doorman

Christina Ambers is a hand model that wed a doorman, prompting a $10 M lawsuit. Christina Ambers has been regarded as the "Heidi Klum of foot models", according to the New York Daily News. Christina lived in a 700 square foot apartment she purchased in 2003. Angel Rotger was the doorman of the building, and swept the beautiful model - whose hands and feet have been featured in ad campaigns for Maybelline, Harry Winston, and "Rescue Me" - off her perfectly proportioned feet.

After Christina Ambers and Angel Rotger married, Rotger lost his job. Furthermore, the building super's wife kneed Angel Rotger in the groin, causing a contusion. Ambers was forced to hail her own taxis and retrieve packages on her own - services promised to the foot model when she purchased her apartment.

Christina Ambers told the New York Daily News "I hope that people can understand how awful it is to come home and to then be treated with hostility in a building where I have paid a lot of money to live. Nobody should have to live this way... I fell in love with Angel because he is a sweet, caring man - how dare they look down on us!"

However, Christina Ambers' lawsuit is over a significant amount of money. She is seeking $10 million in damages. Building tenants state that the model is a tenant "from hell", and the biggest problem in the building.

Personally, I think that if Christina Ambers' statements are true, the building is treating her inappropriately. I am unsure as to why she is seeking so much money. I think it's sad we live in a day and age where we still judge people based on where they work, how much money they make, and what they do.

Whether or not Rotger was wrongfully terminated depends on how he was fired and if he had a contract. It is quite possible that the building had a contract that stipulated that doormen couldn't have romantic involvement with building tenants.

Once again, the lawsuit points to the fact that we are living in an overly litigious society. Lawsuits like this pop up each and every day. However, judging someone and treating someone different just because who they fell in love with is small-minded and just plain wrong.
