Ideas for Great First Dates

The whole point of dating is to spend time learning about each others likes, dislikes, and point of view. It is also to find out whether what you have learned warrants a second date. Finally, a first date is all about having a good time and feeling comfortable with the person you are with.

At the very least, most people know that the first impression is a lasting one. Why shouldn’t it be? If this is the person that you are meant to be with, why not make this date memorable. It is important to put a good foot forward and let the other person know that you took the time to think about what is most important to you.

I can remember my first date. He had called that morning to make sure I dressed comfortable, in layers and had good walking shoes. He also suggested that I bring an extra change in clothes for afterward…”very casual.” I knew that he had planned on an outdoor activity. When he picked me up at 2:00pm Saturday afternoon, he handed me his bottle of sunscreen and insisted that I put it on just in case. The weather was about 55F but the sun was powerful. He wouldn’t tell me where he was taking me. The only thing that he said is that, “We are going to learn a lot about each other today” and “I planned a good time.”
