The Dayton Daily News published an article today about a three year drug sting that was concluded on Thursday May 11th in the Dayton Ohio area. A total of 17 illegal aliens from Mexico were indicted and 11 of the 17 have been arrested as a result of raids by the FBI and DEA. According to Assistant U.S. Attorney William Schenck, the six suspects that slipped through the grip of the sting operation have likely fled the country. The 11 that have been detained without bond, are suspected of trafficking large amounts of methamphetamines and cocaine from south of the border to the Dayton Ohio area.

The rest of the story is as follows:

...The men are loosely connected to an international drug ring that brings cocaine through Mexico to El Paso, Texas and then to Dayton, said DEA agent Todd Spradling. They face mandatory minimum sentences of 10 years in federal prison and up to life in prison, and $4 million fines. The sentences would have to be served before they could be deported to Mexico, Schenck said.

DEA and FBI investigators have netted 60 kilograms of cocaine during the investigation, said Eric Thomas, FBI agent in charge. The men, most of them relatives and from the same region in Mexico, have lived in the Miami Valley for years, he said.

"We believe they have been trafficking hundreds of kilos of cocaine into the Dayton area for some time," Schenck said. "This is as big as anything I've seen."

Thursday's arrests will disrupt the flow of cocaine and methamphetamines into the city, the agents said.

"We have dismantled and disrupted the area drug chain and it will have impact in other areas as well," Spradling said. The local drug ring is connected to nine other drug organizations throughout the country, he said. (Dayton Daily News)

Deez, as I've often said, government as we know it no longer works, which is why I'm running for President again in 2008. Part of my platform is to bring our troops home and (after a period of rest and repatriation with their families) put them to work on building a 30-foot high wall on our border with Mexico. I will also put them on the job of rounding up illegals and getting their butts back home. By the way, the Constitution, as many people mistakenly think, does NOT grant automatic citizenship to illegal immigrants' kids because those kids are born here---it does so ONLY to those of immigrants here LEGALLY!
