Here I am writing an article about myself having ADHD. Funny, but I'm surprised that I can string the thoughts along. For as long as I can remember I've had this label attached to me. Dragging it along with me throughout my life. You would think it wouldn't be heavy. It's an albatross however. You hear of children with this, not much has been said about adults living with this disorder. I've looked on the internet and I was surprised that not much is written on it regarding adults. There's medications we can take, there's diets that we can go on that is supposed to help, there's organization "tools" that are supposed to lessen the weight. The truth is those that don't have it, don't understand. I've always said, "If you could step into my mind, you'd be lost in a second."

As a child, It was difficult to sit still. It was hard to listen to teachers and stay in my seat. I was constantly out of that desk any chance I had. When I was in the seat I was staring out the window, looking at the colorful pictures of the letters A-Z strung across the top of the green chalkboard. And always the poster of Garfield with books strapped to him, trying to learn through Osmosis. I remember thinking, if only it was that easy, I'd be set. The poor teacher. I feel sorry for her now. Then I didn't. I thought she didn't like me. I thought that I was less than the other children. I left the "normal" class room to go to a class down the hall, where the walls were more sparse, that was supposed to help me keep my concentration on my work. The classes were small. There was only 3 to 5 students to a class. I liked the teacher in that class room. She would work individually with me. It was easier to concentrate in there, I could focus.
