In the morning,
I went on a visit
To the loo.

The white land was deserted,
The deep sea was clear,
No eyes were watching me.

Or so, I thought.
I hadn't noticed the ant
Trudging the ice under me.

He was holding on to dear life,
Searching for dry land
I'd made scarce with my waterfall.

I stared at it.
I think our eyes met,
Though only for a moment.

Catastrophe struck.
My waterfall lifted it
Clear off its feet.

I tried to reach out,
But hesitated.
How could I, into the loo?

Though I tried to,
I couldn't,
Didn't shed any tears.

But I gave it
A burial of a sort
With a part of my own.

Death in the Loo

I hadn't noticed the ant trudging the ice under me.

A creative work; I enjoyed reading this, and I appreciate the sentiment in it.

Well written !! Thinking of saving a little ant irrespective of the place is a deed of appreciation.

I liked this. So very simple yet it really caused me to think. We are all -- humans, animals, insects....connected and what we do can and often does affect the other as we ALL live in this world under the same big sky.
