A Review of Lipton's Brisk Apple Flavored Green Tea

Green Tea Goes Apple

I find great pleasure in a good tea. Hot tea, iced tea, makes no difference to me. I love them all. Flavored teas are like boxes of chocolates, a different flavor for every mood. At present, I have 15 different teas in the cupboard or refrigerator. All of them like good soldiers waiting
to help me through my day. There is one though, that stands out. Made by Lipton, it is the best that I have ever found. It is Brisk Green, an apple flavored green tea.

Many people shy away from the light green teas because of the lack of flavor. Yet they want the added health benefits of the EGCG ( epigallocatechin gallate).
Women like the fact that it can help them lose weight. This product fits the bill. This tea is crisp and refreshing. Actually a delight to drink. In my house, there is a fight when we are down to the last can in the refrigerator. I always point out the other beverages available. They always point out that there are none that taste as good as the Brisk Green. I have to agree with them.

I don't know how the manufacturer did it, but the taste is phenomenal. It actually tastes as though you just bit into a granny smith apple. I was truly amazed. I was expecting the same old green apple pucker. My mouth starts to water just thinking about it. Many green apple products have the initial sour taste but it doesn't last or is too overpowering. There is no bitterness or strong sour taste. No need to worry about an after-taste either. Just plain old good tea.

Calorie content is 130 for a 12 oz can. 0 grams of fat. This is not caffeine free. It contains 32mg for every 8 oz. I don't have a problem with this because this tea is designed to awaken and refresh. It does just that. With the bold clean taste and the healthy benefits of the green tea, this is my choice of drink for quite some time to come. It comes packaged in 12oz single serving cans, 20 oz bottles and 2-liter bottles. You can't miss it. It's the bright green can in the cooler. This is a Pepsi product so watch that you don't grab the Mountain Dew by mistake. Give it a try and let me know what you think.

I feel like I invented this product back in the summer of 2005. I brewed up a pitcher of green tea and added apple liquor mixer for appletinis to sweeten it without dissolving any sugar in it, and walah!! I called it my "Appleteani" and my guests loved it. To my amazement it appeared in cans the following summer but with high fructose corn syrup added. I do love the flavor but watch out the HFCS thing is not pretty!!!

I love the brisk lipton apple flavored tea. It's a great non carboanted drink and is a welcome drink to my taste buds. However, I have not been able to find the 12 pack 12 oz cans on the supermarket shelves. The store managers tell me that it is up to the Pepsi distributer to stock the shelves with it which they fail to do. I would like to know how I can buy the 12 pack 12 oz cans. Have they discontinued this item? HELP

Sounds delicious although most of the bottled green teas have very low polyphenol levels when compared to fresh brewed green tea. I wonder how it would taste to add a little apple juice to freshly brewed green tea? This would be a way of getting the health benefits while still enjoying the delicious taste of apple. Thanks for a nice review. :-)

This is not real Green Tea.It just a Sour Apple flavore soda with a bit of Green Tea thrown into they can market it as a Green Tea beverage. On the plus side it is very good taste wise and has extra caffeine in it so it will give you a bigger kick than regular soda.
