Many people who have never been to Vegas, and even many people who have been, find it difficult to decide which hotel to stay at. There are simple tips for planning that will make this decision much easier.Price
First off, you have to decide how much money you are willing to spend. Depending on where you stay, or what kind of room you get, you will be spending anywhere from about $39.99 a night all the way up to about $25,000 a night. While the high end of this is extreme, it is still possible. It is just out of almost everyone's price range.
Strip/Downtown/Drive
Essentially, staying in Vegas can fall into three categories. You can stay on the Strip, Downtown, or in no man's land. If you stay on the Strip, you will be spending more for your room, but you will be right where the action is. Downtown is more affordable for many people, and there are many small casinos to choose from in walking distance. In no man's land you will find the best deals, but you will be spending a lot in cab fare.
Crowd
If you have issues being a large crowd, you are going to want to stay away from many of the more popular casinos. Many of these fill up to the point that it can be difficult to move in some areas at certain times of the day and night.
Others
If you do not want to be around children, make sure that you select a casino that does not cater to little ones. If you do not want to be around younger people, or older people, find out which casinos they will frequent, and choose something else.
Location
If you are staying on the Strip, you are going to have to decide where you are going to want to stay on the Strip. Most of the casinos on the south end, and north end of the Strip are going to be less expensive. The ones that are in the middle of the Strip are going to be more money.
There are many places that you can look for information while making your decision. One is the book that Frommer's puts out every year about Las Vegas. You can find this in the travel section at your local bookstore.
Another place, that I prefer, is online at www.cheapovegas.com. This sarcastic website will answer all of your questions, and might give you a laugh as well.
