Back in 2000, many Americans including me viewed Senator McCain as forthright, honest, and straightforward and a gallant patriot who based his political philosophy not purely on party ideology but practical common sense way in dealing with fundamental problems besieging our common interest. The word maverick became a household name when talking about the senior senator from the great state of Arizona.

During the time, he won the New Hampshire's primaries because of his honesty and dedication to the principle of democracy-the concept of "we the people" and not just the interest of the selected privileged power mongering among us. But as we know, the great mercenaries of George Bush, headed by Karl Rove elected a brutish, crude and callous path of addressing issues: by attacking McCain's compassion and tolerance for other Americans who may not agree with his ideas. Unfortunately, he lost the nomination to the Bush gangs who have nothing to offer the country.

The strength and courage, which McCain demonstrated through his years in senate, had been a record that most elected official, would love to envy. Remarkably it was, he publicly attacked the right wing garrison commanders for their intolerance and hated bigotry against fellow patriotic Americans. These men who uses religion as a cloak for showcasing their long-aged discrimination against the less privilege in our midst, threaded their path of unleashing vengeance and compound absurdities on the character of Senator McCain. He was slaughtered on the platform of a racist legion of South Carolinians-a state profoundly gracious about their racist past. In the end, he was mocked and scorned out of the race which many believes he was the best.
