My Mother died less than a year ago, so I am feeling a bit sad this Mother's Day. Before she died, she asked us to read this poem at her funeral. I will share it with you as I remember my Mother this Sunday.

To Those I Love and Who Love Me

When I am gone, release me- let me go
I have so many things to see and do.
You mustn't tie yourself to me with tears,
Be happy that we had so many years.

I gave you my love. You can only guess
How much you gave to me in happiness.
I thank you for the love you each have shown,
But now its time I traveled on alone.

So grieve a while for me if grieve you must
Then let your grief be comforted by trust.
It's only for a while that we must part
So bless the memories within your heart.

I won't be far away, for life goes on
So if you need me, call and I will come.
Though you can't see or touch me, I'll be near-
And if you listen with your heart, you'll hear
All my love around you soft and clear.

And then, when you must come this way alone,
I'll greet you with a smile and say
"Welcome Home."

Your mom looks like a very special lady. I lost my mom fifteen years ago and there is nothing harder to go through. My thoughts are with you. Thank you for sharing this poem.

Thank you, Irene. I read your article - wow! This is so amazing on so many levels. I'm sorry about your mom and brother passing. There is just nothing that prepares you for it, but what happened to you must have provided some comfort. I appreciate you sharing your story with me. God Bless.

Aly, my sincere condolences too. I lost my mother in 1999. My first article was about a spirtual experience with her. I hope it can give you comfort. Nothing harder than to lose mom. She actually gave me a premonition in 2003 to my brother's death. It was by accident I clicked on your name after reading Jaleh's article on Cancer. Peace to you http://www.associatedcontent.com/article/134325/my_love_is_always_near_a_visit_from.html

Thank you, Chris. Somehow, I think my Mom STILL knows everything I do - how do Mother's do that?
