Since Ebay and Paypal merged together, have you noticed your money disappearing from your account faster? I'd been selling on Ebay since 1998 and always had good things to say about it until now. I have watched the gradual increase of listing fees over the years, understanding since there are so many people who use this for making extra money on the side. Ebay used to be 10 cents a listing, now they are 40 cents for a basic under $9.99. Doesn't sound like much right? Well, if you sell something for 0.01 to .99 cents opening bid and it closes at that, well you lost money. But it's not just that, they have also increased their take from the final closing cost of your auctions.

They haven't stopped there either, with Paypal being an Ebay affiliate, they charge for you getting money from other bidders in the transfer fees. For instance, I sold a lot of Playstation games and it sold for $280.00, it ran me $0.40 cents to place up and that was okay by me but that's not the complaint. What killed me is the closing cost was $12 or $13 and then, I got my money from the buyer and I checked my Paypal statement. The transfer fee from that was a ridiculous $13.68 to get my money? That was like a ATM charging that to withdraw. So, I lost thirty plus dollars making my auction worth $250 or less.

Many sellers on Ebay have been increasing their shipping fees just to make up for this loss. I noticed many auctions that are even CDs have been just as expensive to buy used than new because of shipping rates. I'd been selling for years, so I know shipping Media Mail for a CD is roughly $0.62 cents in a padded envelope in the USA. So, take that and the price of your supplies to ship. Dollar Tree or Dollar stores are great ways to buying a pack of 3 for a dollar, opposed to spending $0.92 or higher for one. So, with that in mind, it'd run you approx. $1.50 in all to ship a CD to a buyer. Yet, with the increases Ebay and Paypal have done to all sellers, most are charging $5.00 to $8.00 PER CD for just shipping!

I agree you really have to watch how Ebay does their users. I sold on there alot, but it seems as if they are getting strict.
