Five Most Haunted Spots in Massachusetts
Massachusetts is a state that is just dripping in history. From the minute those pilgrims landed on Plymouth Rock, this piece of land has never been the same. From the revolutionary battles of Lexington and Concord to the place where the first Thanksgiving happened, it has been a state of strange and interesting things. Take for instance Ms. Lizzie Borden who murdered her parents with an ax, or the strange creatures believed to be seen on a certain road. There's just no way to get around it, Massachusetts is the place where the ghosts are at. The following is a list of the top five most haunted hot spots of the historical state of Massachusetts.
5) Lizzie Borden's Bed & Breakfast and Museum, Fall River: "Lizzie Borden Took An Ax...."
It's not unusual now-a-days to hear a story of how a daughter murdered members of her family, but in 1892 it was a huge deal. Lizzie Borden was certainly the talk of the town. She was thirty-two years of age when she took an hatchet to her mother and father whom she had been living at home with....or that is what most believed. Lizzie Borden was acquitted only after her lawyer got some substantial evidence thrown out of court. Immediately afterward she was shunned in town. Everyone but the jury believed that Lizzie had committed the murder, but they could do nothing about it. Lizzie Borden's house and room are now available to be rented out. Hands have been felt touching shoulders in the living room where Lizzie's father was murdered. The basement is said to be the most haunted place in the house. A floating apparition of a woman in a Victorian style dress has been seen down there and windows have been said to bang up and down of there own accord.
