I Am Thankful

Not Just for This Thanksgiving, but for Always

I am thankful for the arms
That surround me everyday.
I am thankful for the hearts
That listen to what I say.

I am thankful for the smiles
My children have just for me.
I am thankful for the joy
In the eyes of those I see.

I am thankful for my mother
Who gave me the gift of life.
I am thankful for my father
Who taught me to live in strife.

I am thankful for my friends
Who always reach out a hand.
I am thankful to those I love
For they taught me how to stand.

I am thankful for my country
For the freedom that it gave.
I am thankful that some fought
So selflessly and so brave.

I am thankful for all things;
That for which I have been blessed.
I am thankful for a clear voice
Willing to speak of the rest.

I am thankful for my talent
No matter how small it is.
I am thankful to my God
And that I am always His.
