Phoenix Suns Down Pistons to Power to Joint Best in NBA

Another Spectacular Performance from the Rising Suns

The deadly duo of Amare Stoudemire and Steve Nash combined for 41 points on a night where Phoenix Suns trashed the Detroit Pistons 117-91.The win also followed the team's unbeaten home record and improves the league standing to a joint NBA best 11-3.The blowout match was a resounding dent in the confidence of the Pistons who have not found their form throughout the entire season.

Steve Nash had 20 points along with his 9 assist while Amare had 21.Jason Richardson followed through another steady performance with 17 points. The team performance was exemplary as their win extended them to 5-0 at home this season.Former 2004 NBA Champions Detroit Pistons never came close to even threatening the score. It was a nightmarish end to the Pistons 4 game road trip and a grim reminder that much work has to be done within the Pistons.

The night though belongs to the Suns who demonstrated their potential and their continued shooting pace where the Suns are the only teams in the league currently who have scored more than 100 points in every game that they have played so far.The night was even more impressive as six Sun players scored in double figures including centre Channing Frye.Amare continued to lead this team in the right direction with his scoring performances and the 7 rebounds which he added.Another bright spot was the shining performance from reserve guard Goran Dragic who had 13 points,4 assists and six rebounds in a brief 22 minute performance.

Both Charlie Villanueva and rookie DaJuan Summers combined for 26 points for the Pistons who were sorely lacking their injured shooting guard Richard Hamilton. The player was out with an ankle injury.Another noticeable absentee was Tayshaun Prince who was still suffering from a back injury.
