Frankenmuth is a Bavarian style town in Michigan. The town is an ideal weekend destination for people in the Great Lakes region. Frankenmuth is about 90 miles north of Detroit and about 300 miles northeast of Chicago. The town that is famous for celebrating Christmas all year around is the home of Bronner's, with acres of Christmas decorations that can be purchased there, or via catalog.
Frankenmuth is a popular destination that attracts visitors to experience it's unique Bavarian charm. any weekend is a great time to visit "Frankenmuth, but during the festival weekends, there till be many more activities, along with music, beer and German food.
During the summer months, there are some extra special festivals. So take a drive and have fun at Frankenmuth. Following are this summer's special lineup of festivals:
World Expo of Beer

Heritage Park
May 18 & 19
Michigan's largest international beer sampling event. There will be over 150 beef samples to choose from, two cooking with beer classes, four entertainment groups and a food area. Admission is 5. Each 4oz. sample is $1. Must be 21 and over to attend. If planning to drink, ask about the "safe-ride" program that provides transportation to and from local hotels.

June 7-10
The 49th Annual Frankenmuth Bavarian Festival is expected to draw over 100,000 people. The annual parade will be held on Sunday, June 10th, 2007. The parade will feature over 100 units, which include marching band, decorated floats, dance clubs, visiting dignitaries, entertainers, royalty and the newly crowned Princess and her Court. Many of the parade participants wear traditional Bavarian clothing. The weekend is packed with fun, food, beer, dance music and a midway area with rides. Saturday is Kinder Tag (Kids Day), with face painting and special activities for the children. There is a special parade for children on Saturday, June 9 at 10:00 am.
