Haagen-Dazs Mayan Chocolate versus Haagen-Dazs Mint Chip Ice Cream

Haagen-Dazs has a new flavored ice cream and it is called Mayan Chocolate. Is this new ice cream flavor better than one of their old ones? Well, it is time to find out; I decided to take a look or a taste of the Haagen-Dazs Mayan Chocolate ice cream to see if it is better and worth trading in for Haagen-Dazs Mint Chip ice cream.

Mayan Chocolate
Haagen-Dazs advertises its new Mayan Chocolate ice cream as being inspired by the original Mayan chocolate with a blend of the finest cocoa beans and cinnamon.

Look
Haagen-Dazs Mayan Chocolate is dark brown look with swirls of cinnamon, and when you dig into the ice cream you can see the pockets of cocoa.

Taste
Haagen-Dazs Mayan Chocolate is one of the richest ice cream I have tasted in a while. At first, the cinnamon taste is very strong, and it can put you off if you are not use to it, but it gets less intense after the first bite. The cocoa one can see, has a different texture and offers a nice contrast to the rest of the ice cream.

Would I Buy it Again?
Haagen-Dazs Mayan Chocolate is an interesting tasting ice cream with superior ingredients. While the flavor grew on me, it was a little rich for my palette, so I am not sure if I would buy it again. It is not an ice cream that I would yearn to constantly have.

Mint Chip
Haagen-Dazs Mint Chip is vanilla ice cream with blended in chocolate chucks.

Taste
Vanilla ice cream is actually my favorite kind of ice cream next to chocolate, but I have to say I was surprise how bland Haagen-Dazs Mint Chip tasted overall. The chocolate chunks were quite big, but I did not taste the mint.

Would I Buy it Again?
While Haagen-Dazs Mint Chip was pleasing, it did not wow me. I would probably not buy it again.
