I love those great paper birthday clothes that you get to match all of you store bought birthday supplies. If you wan though, you can easily make your own birthday table cloth using some vintage fabric and a trip to Kinko's! If you are making any of the other vintage fabric birthday party supplies I have been writing about, then you need to make the table clothe to pull the whole look together.

It may seem a little bit silly, but I just love a paper table cloth for birthday parties. This shabby chic birthday table cloth can be made out of paper or cloth. I am giving paper tablecloth instructions, but you can just substitute real cloth if you want! If you like this paper method though it will allow you to create even more shabby chic crafts with your real vintage fabric!

To Make a Vintage Fabric Birthday Table Cloth Craft Project You Will Need:

Vintage Fabric (at least 2 coordinating kinds)

Pinking sheers

Sewing machine

Accent colored thread

Scissors

Your local Kinko's

The first thing you need to do is grab some of your favorite coordinating vintage fabrics, retro fabrics, vintage Feedsack fabric, or any fabric and run off to your local Kinko's. You wan tot have these old fabrics photocopied onto some large paper. This would not be poster paper, but rather that large thin sheets they offer.

Now, you need to cut out your retro fabric paper out to large rectangles about 14 inches by 16 inches. You can change these dimensions to custom fit your own table that you will be using for the birthday party.

Use fun pinking sheers or scissors for this. You could even use a different type of pinking sheer for each type of fabric!

Now, once you have enough square to cover your table and over lap each side by about 1 1.5 feet, then you can start assembling your retro birthday tablecloth.

I like to sew the rectangles of paper together with a sewing machine. It makes your paper look like a quit and really is a sweet vintage look!

You can lay out each row of rectangles and sew them together in straight lines adding rows until you have made your birthday table cloth large enough.
