Your Heart Vs. the Different Fats

Did you ever wonder, what is the biggest epidemic in America that has taken more lives of people over the years than the deadly Black Death and influenzas all taken together?Don't fret and fumble about it. The answer can be seen right out of your window or on streets and malls. Yes it is the mind numbing obesity that you have been seeing all around you. It has been researched that about 65 percent of Americans are overweight out of which, 30 percent are morbidly obese. In this article we will discuss about the various types of fats that have found their place in our kitchen shelves and which fat is responsible for our country's obesity and how to prevent it.
When we are talking about the disadvantages of fats, it doesn't mean that all types of fats are bad for our health. We don't have to dedicate our lives to only eat boiled vegetables and salad leaves like rabbits all day long. There are different types of fats, which we can choose from. Not all fats are bad for our health. Some of the fats are actually very beneficial for our general wellbeing. The key to remember is that everything including fats is good in moderation.
The different types of fats that are available to us along with their advantages and disadvantages are discussed below.
A) Saturated fats
Saturated fats are fats that we have been consuming our whole lives in the form of butter, cheese and fried snacks. They have double carbon to carbon bonds in them which make them more dangerous for our health. Saturated fats can be harmful for our hearts over the long run. They are unhealthy for us because of their capability to cause blockage in our arteries. We can identify such fats easily as we can see them solidify at room temperature. Try boiling chicken with skin on and leave the soup in your kitchen for sometime. When the soup cools down, you can see a layer of fat on the top of soup. This is the saturated fat which can go inside you body and harm your heart.
