Car Crash Leaves Tiger Woods Injured
Golf Great Injured in Early Morning Car Crash
33-yr old golf great Tiger Woods was injured this morning during a car crash as he was leaving his Isleworth, Florida home. FoxNews.com reports that Woods drove his Cadillac Escalade out of his driveway on Deacon Circle at 2:25 a.m. and ran into a fire hydrant and then a neighbor's tree.Investigators estimate that Tiger Woods had been travelling at a speed less than 33 mph as the airbags in his vehicle did not deploy. A full investigation is underway, and although they stated that alcohol was not a factor in the accident, Florida Highway Patrol does indicate that charges are pending. If not under the influence, why was Tiger Woods leaving his home at that hour of the day, resulting in the accident? There have been rumors of trouble on the home front, as Rachel Uchitel claimed to have had an affair with the golfer. Did he leave in haste because of a domestic situation?
Taken to Health Central Hospital in Ocoee, Woods was originally thought to be in serious condition, but has since been released, having suffered mainly facial lacerations.
Tiger Woods is somewhat of an American icon, a true sports legend. Born Eldrick 'Tiger' Woods in 1975, he was raised in a typical middle-class environment and rose to great heights in the world of golf at a very young age. Making guest appearances as a toddler swinging a golf club on various talk shows, the only son of a career Army officer and his Thai wife won his first U.S. Masters in 1997 at the tender age of 21. Tiger is the youngest man to earn the coveted green jacket, as well as the first African-American. He has since earned 13 additional major titles, to include three U.S. Open and four PGA championships.
Tiger is married to Swedish born Elin Nordegren, the former nanny of golfer Jesper Parnevik. They have two children; daughter, Sam is 2, and son Charlie was born in February of this year. Tiger lost his father, Earl, his coach and biggest supporter, to prostate cancer in 2006.
